We wanted to offer something out of the norm so we opted to call the Athenaeum a "Personal Hotel" because it expresses a particular attitude that we have towards each and every individual guest which is characterised by personal attention to detail, the needs and desires of each traveler who chooses to stay at our hotel, whether for business purposes or leisure.
The Athenaeum’s sophisticated style is quite unique in its kind for Florence 4 Star Hotels inspired by a magical mix of contemporary design and Tuscan territory our Hotel has sought to incorporate traditional and contemporary values of Florentine life... For example our walls and flooring in the public areas is made of precious marbles, again marble is used in the bedroom bathrooms and walls whilst the beds themselves employ leather headboards. The use of wood is a predominant theme throughout the hotel Athenaeum and renders the hotel warm and comforting.
Special Lighting Effects are used to wonderfully throughout the hotel to create a relaxing environment particularly in our patio restaurant the "Riflessi" or Reflections where soothing changing pastel colours are used to enhance the ambience whilst dining (see the virtual tour of the Restaurant Riflessi Click here). Indeed, the hotel's computerised lighting system can be changed to suit a season or particular occasions such as anniversaries, business functions, xmas parties etc. Other unique features include our own hotel putting area and practice net for the golf enthusiast !!
